Abstract:
Professor Thanasis Tsanas will present his research lines during the seminar, providing examples
from two projects. The first project, AMBIENT-BD, focuses on utilizing sleep and circadian
rhythms data to understand trajectories and clinical outcomes in bipolar disorder. Professor Tsanas
will showcase how innovative ambient and passive data collection methods are used to assess sleep
patterns and develop personalized models for early intervention. The second project,
ADVANTAGE, explores the genetics of extreme human phenotype and aims to discover new
analgesics for visceral pain. Professor Tsanas will discuss how the analysis of multimodal data
collected from clinical tests, self-reports, and wearable sensors contributes to advancing the
understanding and treatment of visceral diseases. These projects exemplify the interdisciplinary
approach and collaborative efforts of the DARTH group in their research endeavors.
