Titulo do Seminário: “ondas gravitacionais”  tema do Prémio Nobel da Física de 2017

Abstract:

Gravitational waves have been predicted by Einstein in 1916. The discovery of gravitational waves in 2015 involved an impressive chain of theoretical and technological developments and can be regarded as an ultimate indication of the Theory of General Relativity as proposed by Einstein in November 1915.

In this talk, various aspects of the discovery of gravitational waves and its implications for the understanding of the Universe will be discussed in the context of the most recent developments of astrophysics, cosmology and particle physics.
